Development of Physical and ,Mathematical Models of Incinerators, Part II: Initial Testing of a Real System

چکیده
Calculations of total reactor size have been made for the over bed combustion region of an incinerator, for a given area firing rate, assuming a variation in the completeness of reaction (conversion) "in the stirred section. As conversion increases, the overall reactor size drops to a minimum at 85 percen t con version and then rises again. At this minimum, the overbed heigh t required was calculated at 4 ft, which was found to be in rough agreement with measure ments made on a test incinerator. The program developed is simple and unsophisticated, but this initial order-of-magnitude agreement lends encourage ment to the view that incinerators are amenable to mathematical analysis and theoretical prediction and that such an approach will increasingly provide the basis for incinerator design in the future.

متن کاملAdsorption of Fe (II) from Aqueous Phase by Chitosan: Application of Physical Models and Artificial Neural Network for Prediction of Breakthrough
Removal of Fe (II) from aqueous media was investigated using chitosan as the adsorbent in both batch and continuous systems. Batch experiments were carried out at initial concentration range of 10-50 mg/L and temperature range of 20–40˚C. In batch experiments, maximum adsorption capacity of 28.7 mg/g and removal efficiency of 93% were obtained. Adsorption equilibrium data were well-fitted with ...
متن کاملDistance protection closed-loop testing using RTDS
This paper presents a distance protection test procedure by applying the Real-Time Digital Simulator (RTDS) of a power system. RTDS is a tool to design, develop, and test power-system protection. The RTDS enables real-time computation of electromagnetic phenomena with a calculation time step of even 50μs. The hardware allows the import and export of many signals from the simulator to an ext...
متن کاملInitial coefficients of starlike functions with real coefficients
The sharp bounds for the third and fourth coefficients of Ma-Minda starlike functions having fixed second coefficient are determined. These results are proved by using certain constraint coefficient problem for functions with positive real part whose coefficients are real and the first coefficient is kept fixed. Analogous results are obtained for a general class of close-to-convex functions
